Baked Chik'n Seitan
Ingredients
- 1 cup vital wheat gluten
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 3/4 cup water (or broth)
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (or tahini or other nut butter)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste or powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8x8 baking dish with canola oil. Mix the dry ingredients separately from the liquid ingredients, then combine dry and wet.
- Stir until a dough forms and then knead dough for 3 minutes.
- Flatten into baking dish and bake for 20 minutes
- Add sauce and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes.
