Mom's Turkey Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup of celery
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 loaves of wheat bread, toasted and finely ground
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/3 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup liquid

Instructions

  1. Melt butter or margarine and slowly simmer the celery and onions.

  2. Grate bread (toasted) into large bowl, add seasoning.

  3. Combine celery mixture with bread, add eggs and liquid (liquid could be added to celery mixture to warm). Toss lightly until all ingredients are blended.

  4. Dry inside of turkey and stuff. Put remaining stuffing into casserole.
