Total Time: 1.5 hours
Categories: condiments dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 overripe, cored pears
  • splash of vanilla extract
  • dash of powdered ginger
  • 1-1.5 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Cube 2 overripe pears, cored. Slice off any weird spots
  2. Add to a pot with just enough water to cover the bottom, a splash of vanilla extract, and a dash of ginger. Bring to a boil for 30 minutes.
  3. Use an immersion blender to blend the mixture together until smooth.
  4. Add a glug and a half of maple syrup (1-1.5 tbsp), and bring to a soft boil.
  5. Continually stir the mixture for 30 or so minutes until it darkens, thickens, and reduces by about half.
  6. Cool completely before transferring to a container and putting in the refrigerator. Yields about 1 cup of pear butter.
