Pear butter
Ingredients
- 2 overripe, cored pears
- splash of vanilla extract
- dash of powdered ginger
- 1-1.5 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Cube 2 overripe pears, cored. Slice off any weird spots
- Add to a pot with just enough water to cover the bottom, a splash of vanilla extract, and a dash of ginger. Bring to a boil for 30 minutes.
- Use an immersion blender to blend the mixture together until smooth.
- Add a glug and a half of maple syrup (1-1.5 tbsp), and bring to a soft boil.
- Continually stir the mixture for 30 or so minutes until it darkens, thickens, and reduces by about half.
- Cool completely before transferring to a container and putting in the refrigerator. Yields about 1 cup of pear butter.
