Peppermint Bark
Ingredients
- 2 cups dark chocolate
- 4 oz white chocolate
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy
Instructions
- Melt the dark chocolate in a greased microwave safe bowl for 30 second intervals until it easily stirs together melted.
- Spread the melted dark chocolate in a wax paper lined pan. Let cool about 10 minutes, or in the freezer, until mostly set.
- Repeat the melting process for the white chocolate, but stir in the peppermint extract once melted.
- Pour the minty white chocolate over the hardened dark chocolate, smooth it out evenly. If the dark chocolate starts bleeding, just swirl with a knife after there's a nice layer.
- Now sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy (pressing it in to the chocolate a bit) over the unset white chocolate top, before placing in the fridge to completely cool and harden (or leave it on the counter for a few hours to harden at room temperature).
- Once hard, you can use a sharp knife to cute squares/rectangles, or simply break pieces off (breaking pieces off works best if you made thin bark).
